A Decade of Brilliance

 Hi Koko,

So we changed our car. Yes, our favorite Honda City, in it's shiny maroon belongs to someone else now. While we have moved on to a majestic ride, can we take a moment to reminisce the beautiful times we spent in it?

The car was older than you. We purchased it the year I moved to Bangalore, so in many ways I was also emotionally connected with it though your father spent the maximum time driving it around. It was very truly an extension of his self.

The story of buying this car is clear as if it happened just yesterday, time flies and how! We were just married then and we were living with our friends, Kanika and Aman. I think Aman had also just bought a car and we were discussing over a weekend we should get one too. I was happy I could have the black Santro all to myself. So we went to the Honda showroom and we were looking at smaller cars, but we saw this maroon beauty and we were sold from the word go.

The car sales team did not have to work hard for us to claim this car to be ours. Look at that happiness on our faces!

Soon it was the only way your father moved.

We went out on a lot of adventures and went on many new roads together.

Sometimes with our friends...

It would also be the safe place where uncounted stories were told and laughter echoed...

This was also the car which was your first ride ever, look at the ribbons and balloons they are dressing up the car in...

...and then your royal self got on a car (this car) for the very first time and boy were you comfortable!

The grandparents also had a good run in it...

As time went by, you grew up, the car grew old, but our little mischiefs grew along with it.

The quiet stability that it gave on the toughest of roads, on the rainiest of days, on the naughtiest of your moods will be missed. There was always room for more on its seats and in its heart. Snowy also joined the family and came home on this car.

All your long stories about Bayern with Dadan happened on this backseat, while Bangalore traffic droned on.

It gave us such happy memories...

That it's hard to let go...

But we look forward, as good things are on the way, and our loyal and beloved friend has got a new home where he will be equally loved.

Love,

Ma
